An Introduction to
Yoga Nidra
Yoga ("union") Nidra ("sleep") is a unique
practice of alert awareness and deep relaxation. It is one of the
most effective ways to connect with your body's wisdom, your mind's
natural clarity, your heart's desire and your soul's path. Yoga
Nidra invites transformation and healing and provides a powerful
practice for releasing deeply-rooted habits, fears and beliefs. In
this workshop, you'll experience a deep yoga practice, including
movement, breathwork and yoga nidra.
Creating a Home Practice (with Melissa
MacKinnon)
This workshop will give you practical
ideas and inspiration to develop a home practice that fits with your
life. We will consider postures, breathwork, meditation and chanting
as tools to help you develop a practice that fits your life now. By
exploring our resistance and identifying the challenges to a home
practice, you will discover creative ways to work through them. You
will experience two sequences and receive handouts offering
guidelines for a home practice, including specific posture
sequences.
Sound~Yoga

has always been a source of spiritual connection and healing. Deepen
your yoga practice by exploring the resonance of your natural voice.
We'll combine postures, breathwork, toning, chanting and meditative
silence in fresh ways.
Yoga Nidra and the Practice of Healing
Presence: A Workshop for Healthcare Professionals
The practice of yoga nidra (yogic sleep)
offers a unique blend of deep relaxation and alert awareness. It is
achieved by gently withdrawing each of the senses form external
stimuli for the purpose of calming the mind. This practice is deeply
nourishing to those who wish to experience the benefits of a yoga
practice but find themselves unable to participate in a more
conventional way. It is especially beneficial to healthcare
professionals, as it evokes and strengthens the practitioner's
healing presence. In this workshop, participants will experience the
practice of yoga nidra and learn about its personal and therapeutic
applications.
Sound~Yoga and the Practice of Authentic
Communication: A Workshop to Create Deeper Connections in the
Workplace and the Community
We habitually speak to convey information
and/or to convince others of something we feel to be true. As we
listen to others, we are often distracted. Discover the sound of
your own voice and experience authentic communication by listening
to others fully: body, mind and spirit. When we speak from a place
of calm authority, we create space to be heard. The practices of
Sound~Yoga are designed to build community by offering an experience
of speaking and listening as an embodied activity. In this workshop,
participants will experience the practices of Sound~Yoga and learn
about its personal and business applications.
Devotional Yoga: Yoga Practices to Deepen Your Faith
A workshop for Christian churches
interested in exploring the connections between the practice of yoga
and the teachings of Jesus
Have you ever intended to spend a period of time in meditation or
prayer and discovered that you were distracted by an uncomfortable
body and restless mind? The practices of devotional yoga may help
you rest in the quiet, spacious center of your being. Have you
sought a way to remember the presence of God, Goddess, Spirit in
your daily life? The practices of devotional yoga may help you
nurture and awareness of your own innate divinity. In addition to
being a preparation for prayer and prayerful living, the practices
of devotional yoga can themselves be a prayer. Mindful attention to
the movement of your body and breath can be an act of gratitude to
your creator. |
